Focused Criminal Law Experience: For two and a half years I have focused on Search & Seizure (4th Amendment) and Miranda Rights (5th Amendment) issues. My experience reviewing 15-20 warrants a month, likely more than any sitting judge in King County, has prepared me to make these decisions on the bench.
Breadth of Criminal Law Experience: I have prosecuted everything from a traffic ticket to a murder trial. This awareness of the complete picture of the justice system creates full understanding of the implications of the decisions a judge faces.
Management Experience: Municipal Court is bound by statute and mandates a duty to manage personnel. I have significant management experience in a multi-million dollar operation and have had specific management training. I am the only candidate combining focused criminal law and management experience.
Conflict Resolution: At Willamette University, I was one of only 16 students selected to participate in a specialized intensive training that focused on conflict resolution. Using my Certificate of Dispute Resolution, I will utilize my ability to think outside the box and see all points of view, creating resolutions for court operation that are fair and reasonable.
